Lab Equipment

There are two categories of lab equipment available in every medical lab. They are known as one-use items and another one is larger machines.
The state laws and laboratory rules are very strict when it comes to the handling, storage and disposal of these biological materials. For example, scalpels can only be used once to collect samples to avoid infection. They must be disposed of properly after they are coming into contact with bodily fluids or blood.
HPLC Column Chiller/Heater is one example of larger machines that can be used to test any samples that you would like to experiment. You need to clean them regularly and sterilize it to avoid contamination.
Sterilization process can kill up to 99% if micro-organisms but there are still a very slim chance for these re-used items to be contaminated. That is why you see doctors will throw away any item that touches the patients’ body.
These lab equipments can be very expensive. That is why you need to take good care of them and sterilize it regularly. It won’t make sense to waste too much money on larger machines when you only need one at a time.
Plan your expenses and only buy important equipments to avoid wasting money.
