The scientists at Biomedical Engineering Laboratory in Keio University have created a basic brain-computer interface , named BCI, that can be used to control your Second Life avatar using only your thoughts. Using an electrode mounted on a headpiece, connected to a EEG machine, basic commands life walking, moving, opening doors can be interpreted by BCI and translated into a keyboard command for Second Life. The future plans include more elaborate movements and commands for people to use in Second Life. Creepy stuff, my 2 cents of opinion.

Hitachi released a slimmer version of their remote control. This one has only one big trackball in the middle and a back button. I must say that this one looks pretty nice and sleek but I have my doubts about its usability. Plus, being so small it might be too easy to misplace or loose even. Reminds me of my days as a student when I could have been a little more cool if I had that.

Adrian Drake from [ Brick Frenzy ] has revealed something unique : a Decepticon created from LEGOs thats no quite a transformer. His creation is a little over 2-feet tall, it is called Blackout and is created from the original toy, a MH-53 Pave Low helicopter. The problem with it trying to conquer the Earth might be the fact that it’s transformation to a full helicopter is a little bit tricky because, being made out of LEGO’s really hinders his ability to do so in a timely manner. It’s a cool thing to have around but doesn’t fit in the Decepticon World. Other than that it’s something to have for someone that’s into transformers collectibles.
