There are two categories of lab equipment available in every medical lab. They are known as one-use items and another one is larger machines.
The state laws and laboratory rules are very strict when it comes to the handling, storage and disposal of these biological materials. For example, scalpels can only be used once to collect samples to avoid infection. They must be disposed of properly after they are coming into contact with bodily fluids or blood.
HPLC Column Chiller/Heater is one example of larger machines that can be used to test any samples that you would like to experiment. You need to clean them regularly and sterilize it to avoid contamination.
Sterilization process can kill up to 99% if micro-organisms but there are still a very slim chance for these re-used items to be contaminated. That is why you see doctors will throw away any item that touches the patients’ body.
These lab equipments can be very expensive. That is why you need to take good care of them and sterilize it regularly. It won’t make sense to waste too much money on larger machines when you only need one at a time.
Plan your expenses and only buy important equipments to avoid wasting money.

Christmas is coming so fast that it’s almost ringing at your door. Are you prepared for it ? Have you made something to make you stand out in the crowd ? Not yet ?
Than this one simple two word solution for you : glow sticks. Ever herd of them ? It’s something pretty common these days but nobody uses them for what they are, a strange little gizmo to create effects. There are numerous ideas where you can use them or other items like them ( let’s say … a glow necklace). The thing is everybody uses plain old simple candle lights or electric bulbs in different colors. Why not make use of this idea ?

For example, you have a pool and where you live the weather allows you to have a Christmas Party outdoor. Use these sticks on the bottom of the pool or on the side and create an awesome looking party. Or maybe use them and create one awesome night golf event. Why spend your money on lights and electricity to find the hole ? Use different color glow sticks to mark the holes and a special kind of glow golf ball. I bet it will make something interesting for you and your friends.

And think about it, you will not spend much on buying them ( considering that you will need more than a couple of them and you could obtain a cool discount ) and you will be on the safe environmental side of the world.
Cheers and a Happy Christmas !

Using Star Wars films as one of the inspirations for his designs, a masters student at the University of Texas named Jason Mellard developed an aquatic research and housing facility to be located 50-100 miles offshore. Scientists studying marine and bird life would stay on the platform with their families in 6-13 month shifts and work in spheres consisting of laboratories, classrooms, computer labs, viewing platforms, holding tanks, offices and storage.

The actual research facilities would be submerged below sea level to aid in marine study and the living quarters would float on the surface. Certain portions could even be detached and act as independent vessels. And the whole thing would be powered using a combination of wind energy, solar energy, water currents and electricity collected from lightning.
Whether we will ever see this concept come to fruition remains unclear. A major stumbling block would certainly be Mallard’s estimated $500 million to $1 billion price tag. So, unless there is someone out there with really deep pockets and a love for whales/the films of George Lucas, this one will probably remain on the shelf for a while.

People who didn’t want to settle for the sanitized version of Ang Lee’s Lust, Caution turned to the dirtier illegal download, and ended up in need of a shot of virtual penicillin. Chinese censors chopped about 30 minutes of the old hot-n-heavy out of the movie, increasing demand for a pirated copy showing the American cut. But hackers have replaced many copies of the film with bundles of malicious software causing everything from BSOD to password theft. It’s known as Trojan.Win32.Mnless.zgw, though InfoWorld and others prefer “the Lust virus.” At last count, about 15 of Lust downloads were poised to zap systems.

A friend of mine asked me to help him start an online business. He needed a shopping cart solution for his idea. So, being a good friend that I am, I started looking around for the best ecommerce software that will suit his needs.
The fact that my friend’s online business will be small kept me away from the big fish in the pond ( financially speaking ) and look for solution that would best fit his budget. I needed something easy to use, easy to implement and of course easy to maintain. And I found Ashop Commerce, a company that caught my attention. They produce a shopping cart software that has lots of interesting features starting from the easy setup, the range of payment options it supports, the tax and shipping information and to the web optimization.
After taking a good look at the admin and front page demo of the solution I recommended this one to my friend. And if you will ever need something like that I suggest you pay them a visit and take a look. You might find there a winner.

The brand new Samsung BD-UP5000 is designed to support full HD DVD and Blu-ray , including the best in class profile 1.1 support for picture in picture for BD. With an estimated price of $1000 it isn’t cheap, but you’ll avoid the ugly situation of having to choose between a disc player that plays Casino Royale (BD) or Transformers (HD DVD). This is the first HD disc player we can recommend wholeheartedly from a feature standpoint, but of course, it’s not that simple. I’m sure some of you will want to opt for the other choices. Maybe you want a game console with HD disc playback, or don’t have an HDTV yet. Maybe you’re interested but are waiting for the price points to drop on players.

Most Laptop coolers are just for fun , they don’t quite do they job properly when it comes down to cooling. The new cooler designed bt Bostjan Majcen looks quite nice. The fan is placed in the middle and has an Apple logo above it — will make a lot of the Apple fans happy. It has four built-in USB ports and a tilted, lifted stand , that way you will have a better look at your screen. If they made that fan in the middle powerful enough to actually do something other than blow slightly warm air gently on our crotch, we would have had a must have gadget for our laptops.
