Brand New 320GB and 500GB Home Network Hard Drives by Iomega

Iomega announced their new network-attached storage devices that are priced close to their USB-only siblings. There are two models available : a 320GB drive at a price of $149 and the 500GB model going for $199. They also announced a 360GB version that will become available starting next month for $149 . These may not be the very best deals out there, but they’re definitely going to enter the competition.
They’re specs could be a little bit more powerful but for the home user they will do the job :
- 7200 RPM SATA-II hard drives with 8MB cache.
- built-in Ethernet is 10/100, unfortunately not gigabit,
- each drive also has a USB 2.0 port for local connections.

My concern is how well they perform in the home of a total a-technical user. Hopefully Iomega has prepared a nice getting-started software or at least the tech-support staff is well prepared for the job.
