It finally looks like the arrival of the Microsoft “Falcon” Xbox 360 is closer than ever. Every XBOX fan has been waiting for this to happen. If you go over to the Xbox official forum you will see that the guys have been filling the threads about this. This new version will have a 65nm CPU and will probably be more stable that the other versions.

Panasonic recently announced an improved new series of tough laptops will become available. Panasonic have taken the decision to impose themselves as the best manufacturer in the tough laptops section. According to them, the 4 models in the series will be based on the Intel’s Santa Rosa platform that brings a good combination of a processor, chipset and wireless adapter together. They will also have1GB of RAM, a 80GB HardDisk and 802.11 a/b/g wireless LAN. Unfortunately no 802.11n were added to the list of improvements.
This new line is said to be able to stand a 76 centimeters drop, which is pretty much the standard height of a desk. This claim was tested at a press conference where the Panasonic representatives repeatedly droped one of their models several time to demonstrate this feature. Apparently nothing happened to the laptop as it kept working perfectly. Another thing that they added was a water drain in the keyboard that can handle about 200 milliliters of water and redirect it to a drain hole in the base. This feature also looks to be working great.
These models will become available around late November and will have a price range of $2700 - $3500.

ShowStoppers, NYC presented the brand new D-Link model DGL 4500, a router designed for the gamer in you with a built-in OLED Screen that adds a more interactivity to it. A pretty new and catchy trend nowadays. It’s based on the N Draft, has the standard 4 port LAN interfaces and one WAN interface to hookup to the net. Rumors are, that someday, you will be able to tweak what you see on the screen, not just the standard configuration settings and upload / download speed.

LaCie has upgraded one of their oldest models to fit into the new market. The specs of this gadget include a Gigabit Ethernet port ( can be used for streaming media, file backup, file synchronization and iTunes server ) and 500GB of space.

Motorola was unveiled two brand new WiMax Modems. A silver droid like desktop modem based on Intel’s 2250 Rosedale 2 chipset, compatible with 802.16e-2005 ( the CPEi300 ) and the much sleeker looking CPEi800 that has WiFi, 4 ethernet ports, two analog line jacks and external antenna jacks. The first model will become available latter this year and will cost aproximatly $200, but the second model will be out next year.
